SCI-ART LAB

Science, Art, Litt, Science based Art & Science Communication

I thought all these days Creativity means " Producing Something New ". But when I see the works of the artists on the internet & the art shows, I must say I don't find works that truly define creativity most of the time. I started wondering these days what creativity really means to these artists. Maybe I am a perfectionist who is looking for a perfect creativity. It might not be possible for everyone to create something new- so some people create works that already exists!
It is like "discovery" and "invention" in science. Some people invent new things, while others discover things that are already there. I am still confused. Can the members here help me in finding the true meaning of creativity?

Creativity is something which is really hard to define.By and large based on the perception of the one creating it,there is always the strong possibility of rejection from the world at large;who may not be in a position to accept something abruptly, that appears strange. Most creations are nuances of the past, that invariably impinge on the future."Old wine in new bottles" so to say! And anything that makes a sudden entry, could end up with biased viewpoints and skewed vision. It's the same everytime with progressive art!" First they ignore you, then they say you're mad, then vulgar and dangerous, and then you can't find anyone who disagrees with your work". These I guess are the obnoxious intricacies of man.......PRINCE
Yes, you are right, Prince. Some people find my work hard to digest. They say science doesn't come under the heading culture & therefore cannot be treated as part of art. They forget that science is the culture of the people who work day & night in science labs. However, some are very appreciative of my work & encourage me a lot. It depends on the perception of people. Likewise artists too have different opinions on the art they create. Different folks, different stokes!

I too don't care about what others say, Paz. Some appreciate your work, some don't- mainly because they don't understand it. Good work always stands the test of time.

To Krishna &Prince: Creativity is one of the easiest thing to define. World`s rejection is world`s problem. They can always eat raw onions and be happy without bothering artist`s minds. And artist`s should do what they feel like without worrying about it. Recognition may take a long time, or never happen, is it any important??. Don`t agree
about the expression "old wine in new bottles", otherwise Leonardo is now laser`s inventor. Got to an stage of my life, where I do what I want, if I want to do it, and people`s opinions are worth a drop of water in the Oceans.PAZ
