An interesting proposal around the concept of multidisciplinary interface between art, Science and New Technologies

AAS Nou Tec is the association for the Advancement of Art, Science and New Technologies started with the aim of promotion and the dissemination of new forms of contemporary artistic creation in complementary association with Art, Science, New Technology, Land Art, and performance arts, such as concerts, theatre, film and other multimedia.
The proposal is to create a“Centre de Rencontre”, a meeting place built around the concept of a multi-disciplinary interface between the Arts, Science and New Technology. A small number of arts-based practitioners and experts within the domains of Science and Technology, with overlapping interests, will be invited to stay at a heritage site, such as a Château, for periods of two weeks or more, during which time they can share and swap ideas. At the same time, there will be workshops for groups of up to twenty people, centering on the subjects of the invited experts. These experts will be available for informal discussions, preside over the seminars, provide practical demonstrations, and generally act as catalysts for group projects.
A place where an enlightened general public, who are excited by the idea of spending a holiday in a creative intellectually stimulating environment, may come to enjoy the opportunity to rub shoulders with high-profile international practitioners in residence, whose work spans various disciplines. A place where someone who has chosen to pursue a course while on holiday, would be able to sit down at the same table during a meal-break and chat with a Nobel Prize Laureate. An historic site that will be conducive to the exchange of ideas and experiences. A peaceful setting where contemporary creation in all of its diverse forms will be pooled and shared so that all participants in their project, whatever might have been their reasons for coming there, will leave it enriched and enlightened in a way that would be hard to imagine anywhere else.
The Project will be realised through the following range of activities:

- Artists, Technical Innovators, and Scientists in Residence,

- Exhibitions and Demonstrations,

- Holiday Courses in Land Art and Garden Design with CAD technology,

- Educational Partnership and Student Exchanges,

- Specialist Workshops and targeted courses to a wider, intellectually curious, general public,

- Concerts and Theatre performances,

- Hiring facilities for Business Seminars, targeted at leading hi-tec Companies

- Publications and Research Papers.

It will provide an intimate unique environment for research, exchange, and the testing of new ideas in a unique form of collaboration. It will be at the forefront of multidisciplinary initiatives that encourage creative interactions between scientific, technological, and artistic inputs. It will provide an intimate unique environment for research, exchange, and the testing of new ideas in a unique form of collaboration. It will discover and nurture new talent in an intimate research and learning environment. It will offer an unusual degree of openness towards an intellectually curious public seeking participation in activities (such as workshops and holiday courses) from which it would otherwise be excluded. It will offer access to these activities to people with mobility difficulties.

The place : The site for the project will be situated at around an hour’s drive from Toulouse, France.
