currents 2012, the 3rd Annual Santa Fe International New Media Art Festival will explore the role of technology and the diverse applicaiotns of New Media in the arts. The Festival will be held in venues throughout Santa Fe including the digital dome facility at the Institute for American Indian Arts. currents 2012 will also offer panel discussions and workshops and multimedia performances. Submission categories include single channel video, video and sound installations, interative new media, animation, computer/software modulated sculpture, multimedia performance, experimental or interactive documentary video, digital dome projection, art-gaming and web-art.

The EVA London annual conference tracks and presents the development and application of electronic visualisation technologies in art, music, dance, theatre, the sciences and other fields Conference themes will particularly include new and emerging technologies and applications, including but not limited to: visualising ideas and concepts, imaging and images in museums and galleries, digital performance, music, sound, film, animation, medical humanities, reconstructive archaeology and architecture, digital and computational art and photographyand technologies of digitisation. EVA London invites proposals for papers, demonstrations, short performances, workshops or panel discussions, especially look for presentations on topical subjects, and the newest and cutting edge technologies and applications.

Ars Electronica is an organization based in Linz, Austria,  founded in 1979 around a festival for art, technology and society that was part of the International  Bruckner FestivalArs Electronica – Festival for Art, Technology and Society

  • Ars Electronica Futurelab – Laboratory for Future Innovations

Main Gallery with approximately 1000 square meters houses the main exhibition called "New Views of Humankind", which focuses on topics like biotechnology, robotics, rapid prototyping and the human body. It is separated into the following four so-called "Labs":

  • Brain-Lab: This area focuses on the human brain, perception and advances in medicine.
  • Bio-Lab: In this Lab, the focus lies on biotechnology and its applications.
  • Fab-Lab: This Lab deals with new possibilities offered by 3D printers and rapid prototyping.
  • Robo-Lab: As the name suggests, this Lab deals with robotica as well as different prothetic systems.

Main Gallery contains a special area for children which is not thematically connected to the main exhibition.
