I got this message from a school boy two days back:
Q: I am a 15 year old student. I feel my teacher deliberately insults me. She picks only me from our group. She always tries to correct me even if I am right. Why is this?
This was my reply to him:
Krishna: This could just be your perception based on your biased analysis. How about thinking from your teacher's point of view too?
You still have an immature mind. Those with immature minds can't see the whole picture. If somebody tries to show them a different view, they think that person is trying to insult them.
Teachers are trained to maintain discipline. What you think is right need not be right from the perspective of a highly educated person. If that person thinks this can harm you and others around, s/he has the right to point this out and correct you.
Not everybody can keep quiet when something wrong is being done before their eyes. Because this could lead to distress to others.
Bad things happen when experts and good people remain silent
I don't see anything wrong with your teacher correcting you. An expert has 'earned the right' to correct others with his or her knowledge. A teacher has the right to correct her students.
I also think she is picking you because her analysis told her you are the most problematic or more immature or ignorant than others. Or you expose your problematic side easily and more frequently to her.
Not trying to understand from others' view points is a big problem too that can cause severe problems in interactions between people.
Okay, now let us think from your perspective.
You think you are doing everything right. Are you sure? Try to think one more time after reading my above analysis.
Why would anyone deliberately insult you? Is that person jealous of you?
Does your teacher envy you? Does she have 'status insecurity' with regard to you?
I don't think so.
Have you caused problems to her? If you had, speak with her and apologize.
That will solve the problem. Go and speak with her frankly and honestly, today and now if you think - after a thorough analysis - your teacher is at fault and not you.
If you think my analysis has some issues you can't digest, call me and speak with me.
