Our genes tell us between you and me there are little variations

Our biology says we belong to a single species

Then why are there these artificial walls between us?

Who narrowed the spaces inside our skulls?

Who demarcated these boundaries between peoples?

Who created these castes, creeds and races?

Isn't the colour of our blood red in all our arteries and veins?

Aren't the insides look the same in all our bodies?

Then why give importance to the colour of our skins?

Who told you to put us in separate categories?

Why do we refuse to accept for different places there aren't differnt skies?

Why don't we realize there is only one earth to live on for all the human beings?

Why don't we accept it is the same air everywhere to breathe in all the places?

Why don't we agree we derive energy from the same foods

And quench our thirst with the same waters?

It is the same earth that satisfies all our needs

And the same love that warms all our hearts

Then why do we draw lines

And say I stay in mine and you in yours?

How can we draw the air boundaries?

Why do we cut our hearts and allow them to bleed?

Why don't we allow the poor to get fed?

Why do we shatter our brains and allow them to rot?

Why don't we share with others what we got?

Why do we close our doors and refuse "others" to let in?

Why do we look at "strangers" with suspicion?

Can't we realize the truth

That can benefit us both?

Sharing and caring is the only way

That can bring all of us together in peace is what wise men say

As we all came from a single ancestor

You are my brother and sister

Wherever you are you belong here

Whoever you are, you are my image in the mirror!
