Scientists are developing dust-sized chips and silica (smart dust) that allow them detect a variety of Biological and Chemical agents in the air. These dust particles consist of many tiny micro electro mechanical systems such as sensors that can detect light, temperature, vibration, magnetism, chemicals etc. and are distributed over a place to perform tests such as sensing.
