The demand for a separate Telangana comprising nine districts was launched in the State of Andhra Pradesh wayback in 1969. Nearly 400 protestors, including students of Osmania University died in different agitations across the nine districts. The deamnd however was submerged with political parties cashing on the issue to garner votes in different elections. The demand now reached its peak since last six months and it is believed over 50 students have committed suicides and several others attempting suicides in support of separate Telangana.
