We take several parameters into account. If you are new, you cannot price them very high. First of all you will have to try to create a market for your work. So in the initial stages, the prices should be relatively low. If you are a well established artist, you can quote a higher price. Then, rarity of the piece, theme, materials you use, cost you incur for bringing the work before the world, amount of work you put in, visual appeal, plus a little margin for profit all these should be taken into account while fixing the price of an art work.
