Art meets science as several biological specimens of frogs, fish and other microorganisms have been turned into a visual assortment of photographs now on exhibit at St. Lawrence University's Brish Art Gallery.
St. Lawrence faculty members, biologist Alex Screiber and bio-archaeologist Mindy Pitre used microscopy to photograph organisms stained with dyes to capture a visual display of metamorphosis.
Other works include photographs of tadpoles and frogs as well as microscopic images of other biological specimens.
Gallery officials say the artists selected the images on exhibit for their aesthetic appeal and scientific value.
