This is superb. I used to work with luminescent bacteria as a means of detecting toxic pollutants and would occasionally write out the company name or logo on a petri plate when I had sufficient notice that potential investors were going to visit. Once as a post-doc I grew a couple of simple winter scenes with colored fungi (Penicillium, Neurospora, white and black yeasts). It would be nice to get Tsien's set of variously colored luminescent proteins and transfer their structural genes and promoters to a luminescent host--perhaps an E. coli hosting the lux operon.
