Our Changing Seas: An Atlantic & Caribbean coral reef story
Artist and ocean advocate Courtney Mattison hand-sculpted "Our Changing Seas: An Atlantic & Caribbean Coral Reef Story" - a large ceramic coral reef sculptural piece inspired by reefs of the Western Atlantic and Caribbean and the human-caused threats they face - in her "Inland Sea Studio" in Denver, CO. The piece was commissioned by the Nova Southeastern University Oceanographic Center for permanent installation in the entryway of its Center of Excellence for Coral Reef Ecosystems Research in Dania Beach, FL in 2013.
