"Nature always begins by resisting the artist, but he who really takes it seriously he will not be put off by that opposition.”
(Letter to Theo van Gogh, c.12 October 1881)

" What distinguishes a great artist from a weak one is first their sensibility and tenderness; second, their imagination, and third, their industry.” – John Ruskin

So scientists and engineers have secret lives?

Well, Albert Einstein sure did. He was quoted as saying “I know that the most joy in my life has come to me from my violin.” The violin? Not e=mc²? Not the theory of relativity? Not his first girlfriend, Inga? Nope. The violin. Einstein even used the violin to help him do science; when he got stuck on a problem, his preferred method of getting unstuck was to improvise on the violin. The man himself… Albert E.

So is our message that you should learn to play the violin?

Not so much. It’s more like this. Man and woman do not live by science and engineering alone.

And thus… “The Secret Life of

Thanks , Paz for posting these pics here. I too keep switching from one area to another like science, art, sci-art, designing, networking, social activity, writing etc. but never keep myself idle. Even while sleeping, I think about the things I have to write and do work on. I go mad if I don't do anything! Being busy is the only way to be sound!

It`s a matter of loving it. Picasso said once: "when I don`t have blue, paint with green".When I don`t feel like painting, make handcrafts, or sculptures, small or huge ones, or architecture, or soccer!!. Hope you like one of my belts. Cheers!.Pollock created his own technic, ingenious and great!

Zhenlian
It is similar here. It is often not who is good artist, but who can think of the most ridiculous idea. An artist I was friends with imitated Jackson Pollack paintings, and became famous for that. Now he sells anything that comes out of his studio. I can hardly sell anything, but I believe in my work. The craziness is in the response to the power of art. Art is powerful but it is like the the tail of the tiger

Zhenlian, your story has familiar echoes in India. The same happens here too.
Please read the discussions in experiments , where just now I have given reply to Mr. Frank Shifreen's discussion. I have told him all that happens here.
Don't worry, you too will get recognition one day. Just keep going.
We are trying to promote women artists from all parts of the world.
You are a member of WFAC international Art Project. This project was started to help artists like you. In case you have any problems , please let me know.

I do think that art business is sometimes a very ridiculous affair, at least this is so in China. Here in China, an artist can get famous sometimes not for the merit of his works, but through what kind of social connections you can make and have, if you are in the circle of some authorities, such as head of the art faculties or professors, in short if you are in a position with good connections, your works will be publicised first among this circle and then your works will be introduced to rich buyers, and in this way you can become a famous artists, even though your works are no good at all, another way of getting famous is that you are recognized in the West, then these authoritiy circles have no way but to recognize you as well, For example a cirtain Chinese artist in the beginning nobody recognized his works, but it happened that he was invited for an exhibition by London's famous gallery, and after his exhibition in London, he has become recognized.
China is still a developping country, few people have time to appreciate arts, the few so-called rich art collectors do not know if a painting is good or bad, they buy and collect what the ecademic authorities told them to buy. I have never got any good comments for my paintings in China, but I have got a lot of praises and admirations from the West, and now even you from India like my paintings, but nobody in China has said what you say about my paintings.
