Somebody asked me the above question
And this is my reply  to it ....
Aham Brahmasmi is a powerful Sanskrit phrase meaning "I am Brahman" or "I am the Absolute/Divine," a core tenet of Advaita vedanta philosophy, signifying the non-dualistic truth that the individual self is identical with the universal reality (Brahman). It's a statement of ultimate spiritual realization, transcending ego to recognize one's inherent divinity and oneness with all existence, appearing in the ancient Upanishads as one of the Maha Vakyas .

The four great teachings that form the backbone of Advaita Vedanta. These are like keys to unlock the deepest mysteries of life:

1. Aham Brahmasmi – “I am Brahman” (Brihadaranyaka Upanishad)

2. Tat Tvam Asi – “You are that” (Chandogya Upanishad)

3. Ayam Atma Brahma – “This self is Brahman” (Mandukya Upanishad)

4. Prajnanam Brahma – “Consciousness is Brahman” (Aitareya Upanishad)

Each of these sayings helps us understand the nature of our existence and our relationship with the world around us. They teach us that while we may seem separate as individuals, at the core of our being, we are all connected to the same ultimate reality—Brahman, the universal consciousness.

If the above explanation is true, why do we say this?

The Sanskrit phrase "Brahma kripahi kevalam" which translates to "the grace of Brahma (God) alone is everything" or "the grace of God is absolute and is the only reality".
This expression emphasizes that divine mercy and grace are the sole means to spiritual realization and the ultimate truth in life.
  • Brahma refers to the Supreme Cosmic Spirit, the ultimate reality, or God.
  • Kripahi (from kripa) means "grace" or "mercy".
  • Kevalam means "absolute" or "alone is everything/the only reality".
So, when we say “Aham Brahmasmi”, we are saying that the individual self  is not different from the universal self (Brahman). This isn’t just an intellectual idea. I am told It’s something that sages and yogis experience directly through meditation and self-realization.

Now, let’s take a leap from ancient philosophy to modern science. You might wonder: how does the phrase “Aham Brahmasmi” connect with science?

A philosopher explained it in this way ....

Let’s start with the Big Bang Theory, which explains the beginning of the universe. At the moment of the Big Bang, everything—matter, energy, and space—was compressed into a single point. From this single point, the universe expanded, forming galaxies, stars, and planets, and eventually, life on Earth.

What’s interesting is that everything in the universe, including you and me, is made up of the same basic building blocks—atoms that were created billions of years ago in the heart of stars.

In a way, Aham Brahmasmi is telling us the same thing. Just as modern science shows that everything comes from a common source, Advaita Vedanta teaches that all beings are connected through Brahman, the ultimate source. Whether we look at the universe from a spiritual or scientific perspective, the message is clear: we are all one.

Aham brahma - I am absolute,  I am one with the supreme - then whose mercy do I depend on - in the phrase - Brahma kripahi kevalam ?
This is what explains this: The philosophical opposite of Advaita (non-dualism) is Dvaita (dualism), which asserts that God (Brahman) and the individual self (Jiva) are eternally separate entities, whereas Advaita teaches they are ultimately One, with the world being an illusion (Maya). While Advaita seeks liberation through knowledge (Jnana) to realize oneness, Dvaita emphasizes devotion (Bhakti) and surrender (Prapatti) to superior beings, viewing the world and life as real and distinct from God.
Hmmm...
Religious teachings differ from one another because they have human mind origins. Anybody can say anything depending on their ways of thinking and perceptions. You cannot provide evidence for anything.
Sometime back I answered a question in this regard ....

Q: Which one should we trust : Science or Religion? Which one tells the truth?

Krishna: Imagine this situation...

A huge asteroid collides with the Earth in the future. Everything here gets destroyed. All living beings. All religions. All the scientific knowledge  written in the books.

Then  life originates here again and evolves into intelligent beings. Then in the initial stages of its civilization when  it tries, it comes up with  new religious stories with different Gods because it doesn't have any knowledge about present ones!

But in the later stages, if it tries to gain scientific knowledge, surprisingly it finds that the Earth revolves around the Sun, Earth is round - not flat, realizes gravity and space-time   in the same way as we did! It also finds millions of stars, galaxies and black holes  like we did!

It sees atoms and molecules and chemical reactions exactly in the same way as we do!

Their 'medical field' evolves similarly to ours! Their technology would be similar to the present one. In fact all their scientific knowledge will be similar to ours!

Even if this happens a hundred times the results would be the same each time!

If intelligent life evolves in different parts of this universe, and if it has to have 'religions' in each part, they would all be different to each other - like the different religious stories and beliefs we have in different parts of Earth. But their scientific knowledge would be exactly the same in all the given situations! Because scientific awareness cannot be different in various parts of our planet or universe.

Why does scientific knowledge remain constant while religion keeps changing?

Can you realize why? If you can, you will understand which one is telling the truth and which one you can trust ... Science or Religion?

----

If there is no evidence for anything you say, you keep fighting with others thinking that only what your perception acknowledges is true. You can never decide what is true and what is false in this way.
What is true and what is false, who is right and who is wrong? Religion can never decide these things.
Morals? What morals?
The universe doesn't recognize human morality. Who is winning, who is losing, who is enjoying or who is suffering. Which mass of atoms is doing what all these things don't matter at all. Because there is no difference between one atom and the other - one mass of atoms and another in its perspective.
Because everything and everybody is one and the same.
The one that is killing (predator) and the one that is getting killed (prey) is the same.
A person watching this game might feel differently but in the universe's perspective, this doesn't matter at all.
So never ask the question, 'why should I suffer? ' Because while one form of you is suffering, another form of you is enjoying. And there is no difference between the two. The universe doesn't distinguish like you do.
All the answers are already provided and embedded in the universe. Unlocking them using the right method is the only way to seek absolute truth.

When the only thing that can provide true evidence based facts is science, then who are the true seekers of truth?
People of science or people of religion?
I think you yourself can answer this question now.
