The Indian Government is keen to bring exiled painter M.F. Husain back to India by putting an end to the legal cases pending against him. Sources in the union Home Ministry said the government is contemplating approaching the Supreme Court seeking expeditious disposal of all cases relating to his controversial paintings.
Husain, 94, has sought to return & made an emotional appeal to the government in this regard.
The cases filed against the renowned painter in different parts of India are likely to be brought to the Supreme Court to bring them to their logical end soon. He is out of the country for three years & is in Dubai now after his paintings were repeatedly vandalized. Husain's paintings of Hindu Gods & Goddesses led to several cases being filed against him across the country.
