Rock Paintings dating back to 3000 BC have been found at two places in the state of Andhra Pradesh, South India. The paintings, done in vegetable oils, were discovered based on information provided by the local people & tribals.
The paintings include those of animals, fish, geometrical designs & scenes of hunting & dancing. The paintings are in red ochre & white pigment have been ascribed to the Mesolithic period. The themes of the paintings are elephants, bisons, tigers & cheetahs. They are all in red ochre & white kaolin.
