Giclee Prints

What are Giclee Prints? They are reproductions of original art works.

Giclee printing is one of the finest reproduction methods available today. The depth of color far surpasses that of lithographs. The image is first imported into the computer, being scanned in or retrieved from a digital camera. The color is then balanced to closely resemble the original art work. After that, it is printed onto canvas or watercolor paper with a sophisticated piece of equipment, similar to a high resolution ink jet printer, by spraying ink on the selected surface. Archival canvas/paper and inks should be used to produce a long lasting product. As with all paper prints, proper framing behind glass is recommended for display, and exposure to sunlight should be avoided.
