Q: How is a matriarchal society fair, as proposed by Cathy Areu, fair? I thought feminists were fighting for equality, not superiority?
Krishna: I recently coined a new word: Naziequity ( yes, similar to the word feminazi).
Please don’t misunderstand me.
I am all for women empowerment. I am fiercely independent. I despise patriarchy. I don’t like it when men try to dominate me or any woman. I compete with men for everything and come out with flying colours each time I do that. I passionately proved myself equal to men in almost all aspects. Men respect me for what I am today and when some men told me I was their inspiration, I was thrilled to the core.
But still why did I coin that word which ties equality with Nazism?
Because I personally experienced some men and women going overboard with feminism.
I had a discussion with some people on reforms recently. Based on that
I wrote a write up too: Effects of pregnant women smoking and drinking on their fetuses
I was hounded like hell by people who call themselves messiahs of gender equality. Because, they couldn’t understand the right context or the intention with which I wrote my write-up or said some words. According to their perception people who say such things are women with double standards and toxic patriarchs. I hit the ignore button and moved on.
Don’t expect a scientist to blindly support you. We don’t cater to people’s egos, expectations, and lopsided thinking. We strictly stick to facts. Even if we have to face the wrath of the entire world while doing that. We don’t give a damn.
Equality means equality in all situations and conditions. Period!
If you demand more and try to grab others’ share too, you will never command respect you expect with your greed.
Naziequity can get you nowhere! You just remain as unequal as ever if you use such tactics!
Strive for equality, not for naziequity.
Q: What are your thoughts on opening the third eye in scientific ways?
If you think third eye is the eye of insight, then, yes, science can help. Like this: science-and-spirituality
Q; How many miracles have you seen so far?
But, yes, one! Its name is science!
Q; Can diamonds bring bad luck?
What is 'luck' according to science
Q: Is science searching the proof behind the miracles done by spirituality?
Q: How long can a pure soul remain pure?
Because there is no evidence of soul according to science. It is considered as imaginary. Different things people attribute to souls are perception based too. Interesting stories that are anecdotal and not fact based. You won’t get fact based answers here only perception based ones.
Soul?! What is it according to science and scientists?
Q; What have you learned from your mistakes?
I make lots of silly mistakes and I am proud to say it is because of my over-working brain.
In the beginning I used to feel bad and get embarrassed too. But after realising why this ‘s happening, I was pleasantly surprised.
There are several interesting stories about silly mistakes scientists/geniuses/ polymaths make…I want to add two of them here …
A story about a famous scientist: It seems the scientist had two cats-one kitten & its mother. The scientist built a house for his two cats. He left two openings to the house – one small (for the small cat) & one big (for the big cat). It didn’t occur to the scientist at that time – who 's considered as a genius – that one big opening was enough for both the cats!
Another story: Norbert Wiener, an American mathematician, was known for his absent-mindedness. He used to drive to work at Harvard in the morning and come back home in the evening. One day there was to be a change in the routine. The Wieners had sold their house and were moving to the new residence that day. His wife had spared him all the details of the transaction and simply told him that they had sold the house and were moving to another that day, so he must remember to come back in the evening to the new address, which she gave him along with instructions on how to get there. Of course, Wiener forgot and, like on every working day, came back to the old house which he found locked. He could not figure why. Then he saw a young girl standing near the gate and asked her if she knew where the Wieners had gone. The girl replied: “Yes, daddy! I will take you there. Mummy had told me to bring you when you returned here from work.” :)
Making lots of silly mistakes? Welcome to the world of polymaths/scientists/geniuses.
There is nothing to be embarrassed about it. Your brain is working overwhelmingly well!!
Q: Who has contributed the most in ruining our society?
Examples I read in today’s papers:
A father who took his two children who fell sick to a fake doctor (quack) and took ‘treatment’ from him until their health deteriorated till a point of no return to realize his mistake. The children paid with their lives for his father’s foolishness.
A politician who got cheated by a fake baba.
People who pray to trees to get healed:
Magical Mahua: Hundreds of patients on oxygen support visit ‘healin...
Don’t tell me these people are illiterate and ignorant. Even literate and highly qualified people do this. I have seen them with my own eyes and tried several times to drill some sense into their minds.
Literate people living in urban areas are too scientifically illite...
How scientific illiteracy can harm you...
Q: Is it correct to say that one is not a philosopher because he is not a bachelor of philosophy?
Q: How can luck be part of success?
What others call luck, true scientists call chance of finding something while searching for it vigorously and whole-heartedly using all your capabilities, keen observation and knowledge and grabbing the chance when the opportunity presents itself to you.
What is 'luck' according to science
Q: Can one have lucidity in this confused world?
Few days back I had a conversation with a spiritual leader. In fact he himself contacted me after reading one my articles, Science and Spirituality.
He told me he ‘s a truth seeker ( several people say this even here on Quora too). Then I bombarded him with several questions that made him very uncomfortable.
I asked him, ‘If you are attached to a belief’, how can you seek truth in a neutral manner?
How can unverifiable and imaginative things be called as ‘truth’ just because you think they are?
Wont’ reasoning backward from belief to evidence is a wrong way because that will subject you to numerous cognitive biases and you risk fooling yourself about the nature of reality?
How can fear of supernatural take you to unbiased reasoning?
Isn’t it better to understand the way the world really is rather than how we would like it to be?
Without freedom from biases, feelings, preconceived notions, fears and beliefs, how can you seek truth?
How can imaginative or creative stories be called as truths without evidence?
Strangely, he, nor any spiritual leader I encountered, couldn’t answer any of these Qs satisfactorily. Truth seekers highly confused!
If you have a critical mind, you can separate what an evidence based fact is and what a delusion is.
There is no confusion in my mind just because I am living in a chaotic world.
Q: Is it possible to predict your thoughts on the basis of your browsing history?
Know what? Google tries this method to post ads, going wrong all the time. But what happens is I ignore those ads most of the time because I won’t be thinking about buying a new dress just because I visited an E-commerce site that sells clothes.
I get annoyed sometimes and start clicking on them, just to make these business people lose money to Google! They will then realize how foolish they are!
Nobody can plant an idea in my head if it is not an genuine evidence based one. Because I can think critically using my scientific knowledge and strong enough to resist any fears or biases.
Not everybody can resist undesirable things and thoughts like that.
Q:Why do our elders talk based on their beliefs, and why don't they based on logic and experience?
If I say, it depends on the perception, which is based on the conditioning of minds?
Only Critical Thinking can get you out of the mess cognitive biases and fallacies create. And not many can do critical thinking. Majority of people don’t even know what it is.
One person here on Quora told me I invented the words to support my argument when I used it here! Face Palm moment for me!
Q: In the world of specialization, how can a person with wide knowledge survive?
Genuine Atheists used their grey matter to think critically and found no evidence of things people say exist or happen if you believe in higher authority in the sky! And they had the courage to say what they found and practice it!
Science doesn’t accept something that you cannot provide evidence for. Theism has issues with science because of that. That is why science is equated with atheism.
God too needs validation, in the field of science.
There are some scientists who believe in God, although it goes against scientific method to blindly believe in something. These people are theists despite no evidence of supernatural because they need some sort of external emotional support in their lives as they themselves cannot analyse things fully rationally with the help of their gray matter as it is conditioned by various biases. We understand that and tolerate it as long as it doesn’t interfere with scientific research.
The main thing that science says is there must be genuine evidence for everything you trust. If there isn’t one, it becomes controversial, and controversy is vague and non-trustworthy.
But science also says, you should always keep your mind open to any possibilities.
According to atheist-scientists, if you imagine something and think it is true, science cannot accept it. You have to show evidence for it to become a scientific fact or atleast truth. Science cannot accept your imagination as truth. It is logically wrong too. A belief cannot be logically true leave alone scientifically true.
Even if your imagination is taken into account, the creator created this universe scientifically and runs it based on scientific principles. He is a scientist to the core. So he too is bound by it’s rules. He himself would have validated his presence if he really exists. He would have accepted the scientists' argument that he too needs validation in a scientific world created by him.
The very fact that a scientific creator didn't leave any clues of his presence, is reason enough to deny his presence.
However, scientists are open to the idea that a creator could be in the form our senses or our scientific instruments in the present limited conditions can't perceive. Therefore, an atheist-scientist can be 99% atheistic and the remaining one percent, s/he leaves to open mindedness to consider any evidence provided either by nature or any other living form.
Well, now come to your own conclusion!
Q:Why do we need a person who opposes our views, in our group, in order to keep our discussions more juicy and long lasting?
We, the people of scientific community, don’t have time for silly opinions. Opinions don’t count in science much in the first place. We have more important things to do than indulge in stupid discussions that cannot lead anywhere. We trust things and think they are interesting only when they stick to strict scientific method and have genuine evidence.
All the other things belong to trash cans in our world. Sorry, we are not interested in thrash!
Q: Is it true that we humans don't really want reality, we just want to fake everything?
No fake things for us please! And don’t include us in your list of people who love fakeness. We loathe it like hell.
Q: Does the mere repetition of an idea in front of others plants the idea in their head?
Nobody can plant an idea in my head if it is not an genuine evidence based one. Because I can think critically using my scientific knowledge and strong enough to resist any fears or biases.
Not everybody can resist undesirable things and thoughts like that.
Q: What is the question which you do not have the answer to?
Because most of the time stupidity is self-made by well-formed brain of individuals who are lazy or stubborn.
I try to exit the scene without answering the Qs stupidity poses.
Q: What is the opiate of the atheist masses?
Critical thinking power!
Confidence in their abilities.
They can live the one and only life they have not in delusions and constant fear, but with courage and in the way they want.
Living life in a real world.
