A Call for Entries – One deadline for two creative purposes
There is just over three weeks to go until entries close for the Cricket Art Prize and the Cricket Poetry Award. Artists and Poets are asked to depict life in and around the game and sport of cricket in settings of backyard, beach, park, street, village green or club cricket. Entries will now be accepted from artists and poets from the ‘cricket speaking world’ who have created their work in the last 12 months. This annual art prize and poetry competition offers AU$20,000 to the winning artist, AU$2000 to the winning poet. “Going right back to the days of the renaissance, art and poetry have walked hand-in-hand, and so it is with the Cricket Art Prize and the Cricket Poetry Award. I urge painters and poets to celebrate a global sport and national pastime and get their entry in by Friday 31st August” said Anneke van der Pal – committee member.
