Psychosomatic disorders refer to physical disorders that are caused by or notably influenced by emotional factors - involving both the mind and the body. Cancer is not caused by emotional factors (like mental disorders such as stress, irritable bowel syndrome & compulsive obsession disorders) but is influenced by them. If you are positive & optimistic your immune system gets a boost & keep most of the diseases under control. If you are under stress & have negative feelings, it will decrease the capability of your immune system. "Phyco" belongs to mind, "somatic" belongs to body- your mind influences your body & this will have affect on diseases. These are called as pshyco-somatic diseases or disorders.
