"Monetary value is the least and poorest way to evaluate fine art. 'Value' often comes from a body of work, not a few paintings. Value is built up over time, as the artist improve in technique and the ability to express herself. The work takes on more artistic value. Many fine artists never sell any work." - Someone said this & my reply is:
Then how come da Vinci, who has painted only a few paintings, I s called a master? I don't think body of work or number of works produced by an artist counts. Even one or two good works can make an artist stand out.
Yes, I agree monetary value cannot value the true importance of a work. It is how much the work appeals to majority of viewer's mind is more important.
Kandinsky is widely quoted as saying: "The artist must train not only his eye but also his soul, so that it can weigh colors on its own scale and thus become a determinant in artistic creation".
The darkness is there not to run away from but to face and to transform.
Science only permits direct focus on one form of knowledge attainment, empirical, but artists, seeking to portray all aspects in a physical recreation, allow for multiplicity.
Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.

The heights by great men reached and kept / Were not attained by sudden flight, / But they, while their companions slept, / Were toiling upward in the night.

"Art is the heart's explosion on the world. Music. Dance. Poetry. Art on canvas, on walls, on our skins. There is probably no more powerful force for change in this uncertain and crisis-ridden world than young people and their art. It is the consciousness of the world breaking away from the strangle grip of an archaic social order." - Luis J. Rodriguez.
"If you hear a voice within you saying, 'You are not a painter,' then by all means paint ... and that voice will be silenced, but only by working."
-- Vincent van Gogh, in a letter to his brother Theo, 28 October 1883.
Up to a point, a man's life is shaped by environment, heredity and movements and changes in the world about him. Then, there comes a time when it lies within his grasp to shape the clay of his life into the sort of thing he wishes to be. Only the weak blame parents, their race, their times, lack of good fortune, or the quirks of fate. Everyone has it within his power to say, " This I am today; that I will be tomorrow" - Louis L'Amour, author
One must be very daring to reach great heights, and at the same time, a lot of depth to stay grounded.
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change;
Courage to change the things I can;
And wisdom to know the difference

The religion of the future will be a cosmic religion. It should transcend personal God and avoid dogma and theology. Covering both the natural and the spiritual, it should be based on a religious sense arising from the experience of all things natural and spiritual as a meaningful unity

Healthy criticism provokes thought, encourages debate and helps us evolve. But criticism cannot be malicious and must not lead to creating ill-will between different people.

There is a bridge between time and Eternity; and this bridge is Atman, the Spirit of man. Neither day nor night crosses that bridge, nor old age, nor death nor sorrow.
To understand the importance of your uniqueness, realize that in the history of mankind until now, and ever hereafter, there can never be another you. So remain unique and be yourself.
A wisdom tradition isn't the same as a religion: it isn't faith or the grace of God that is needed to create the kind of happiness that no one can take away from you. For that is the ultimate goal, to be so established in your ore self that external events cannot take away your own inner peace and contentment.
One of the finest sayings I have heard, and whose origin has not been established, goes, "Life is not about surviving the storm, but of dancing in the rain" . In living each moment, we should experience sadness in sad times and happiness in happy times.

When we do our work, plough or paint, sing, think or play a sport --- if we keep thinking of fame or income or any such extraneous consideration, we will be deflected from disinterestedness. Success or failure does not depend on the individual but on other factors as well. - S. Radhakrishnan
Creativity gets Killed?! Never for me! Yes, you have to deal with all sorts of people, circumstances & situations in this world. Negative situations only strengthen my determination. The more I face problems, the more creative I become because I get my inspirations & thoughts from them when I analyse these things! I will never let external factors affect my mind or life. My poems, stories, articles & art work clearly show the state of my mind.
Only thing that restricts my work is time! I want more time to do all the things I want to do! There are about 40 art works, poems, articles & stories on my table waiting for the final touches & several more to take shape! Where can I find time for all these things?!
