Even when a person is declared “dead,” they’re not all dead!

Declared by medical personnel as dead?

No, not yet, some cells in your body are still alive even if they are not fed

By vital circulation of blood

Cell types vary in rates bad and good

With their dependence on oxygen, nutrients, waste removal if they could

You stop breathing and your brain shuts down

All life's processes breakdown

But not all the cells in your body heard that countdown

Some biochemistry is still resisting that dropping down

And making a last ditch effort with a frown

No, not yet, your skin says

Corneas still have some uses

Spinal cord might say, I still have reflexes

Still going, say cartilage cells

A few cells can still work without central command and control systems

Some organs endorse, we can be of use if shifted to another body

Come take us and preserve us till then somebody

We can still persist says the infection antibody

Cautioning the first responders to be careful with a dead body

So life's fighting still goes on inside for sometime even if it is given up by your visible body!
