Q: Does science approve medical astrology?
Krishna: Medical Astrology is the branch of the Astrology that deals with Health and Longevity issues. It 's linked to vedas to make it more attractive to the suckers.
Vedic medical astrology is considered as junk science as there is no genuine evidence to support it. First astrology is pseudo-science. Read here why: Why Astrology is Pseudo-science
Planetary combinations and placements don't cause diseases.
Then Vedas have no connection to Astrology.
Some of the Indian Astrologers say Indian Vedic Astrology is different from Western ones and is based on science. But what they themselves don't know is the phrase Vedic Astrology is an oxymoron since the prefix Vedic has nothing to do with the Vedas, the ancient and sacred literature of the Hindus, which do not mention astrology in the way we know it now! Go find out by reading vedas if you don't believe the scientists. In fact, scholars agree that the usual planetary astrology came to India with the Greeks who had visited India since Alexander’s campaign in the third century BC (1).
And even Indian scientists conducted experiments on Indian vedic astrology and found that it is fraud. You will find the details here: An Indian Test of Indian Astrology - CSI
Finally, diseases have no connection to planets and stars.
Diseases and Health conditions arise because of micro-organism (such as bacteria, viruses and fungi, AND also OTHER parasites like protozoa, helminths) infection , defects in electrical and bio-chemical mechanisms and actions in the body, gene mutations and defects, nutrient deficiency, stress and things like that.
The connection between astrology and health was made when science was still in a primitive stage and there was no clear understanding of how living systems work.
like this...
Now that we know how diseases and health conditions develop, and have genuine evidences to make the right connections and as many diseases and health conditions can be cured or managed because of tremendous progress in clinical research we can abandon old connections, beliefs that have no validity.
Astrology cannot understand epidemics leave alone control them. What is Astrology doing when Ebola, MERS-CoV, Avian influenza, Rift Valley Fever, Measles, Dengue struck recently? It is science that tried to control these epidemics, not astrology. Astrology couldn't even predict their outbreaks beforehand. When an epidemic breaks out or while curing or controlling the disease astrology cannot outwit the modern medical practitioners. All that it can do is make tall claims, cheat people of their hard earned money and withdraw when confronted.
Astrologers suggest some rituals to counteract the ‘ill-effects’ of planetary combinations.. All these rituals are performed by specialist priests who would naturally extract steep charges for their services! But is there genuine evidence to show that performing these rituals can actually cure the diseases? Of course, they would provide lots of anecdotal evidence science cannot accept.
It is the microbiologists, clinical researchers, doctors and other health care providers that took great risks in studying these disease outbreaks, controlling them and eradicating them, not astrologers.
If you waste time by going to an astrologer instead of a qualified doctor, you would be risking your life too. Realize that.
Then came the ridicule that science still cannot cure several of the diseases. True, we cannot cure several of the diseases living beings are facing right now because of human mind limitations in understanding them, lack of equipment, funds, obstructions caused by people and governments and as we have so many of these conditions and so less qualified people to study them. But it is only a matter of time before we find solutions. Meanwhile don't get desperate and fall prey for cheats.
Trust science and co-operate with it when requested. That is the only way to move forward if you want to get the right solutions to your health problems.

Q: Why do people believe in Astrology despite proven as pseudo-science?
Krishna: apart from Barnum Effect described in this video ....
psychologists, give several other reasons too ...
Human beings constantly seek narratives to help weave their past, p... through their goals and expectations — and that’s where astrology comes in. “[Astrology] provides [people] a very clear frame for that explanation. Also, astrology helps create and validate the concept of self for some, and there are thousands of websites on the internet, which cater to just that through their listicles on personality traits attributable to different sun signs. Moreover, for some others, astrology also imparts a sense of belonging. “It allows you to see yourself as part of the world: “Here’s where I fit in, oh, I’m Pisces,: Smithsonian Magazine .
Studies also show that people often turn to astrology in response to stress and anxiety. “Under conditions of high stress, the individual is prepared to use astrology as a coping device even though under low-stress conditions he does not believe in it. In fact, the first astrology column to be commissioned for a newspaper was during the Great Depression in August, 1930. Again, during the 2008 financial crisis, people sought out astrologers to foretell their future. “All of those structures that people had relied upon… started to fall apart. That’s how a lot of people get into it. They’re, like, ‘What’s going on in my life? Nothing makes sense’: The New Yorker, reminiscing 2008.
Another major reason that propels people towards astrology is uncertainty. Studies have shown that we find not knowing what could happen even more stressful than knowing that.... Through its predictions, the astrological framework helps human beings achieve the certainties they crave for. “If they’re going through a time of disruption, they suddenly start to take what’s written about their sign much more seriously.
A current example is the ongoing Covid19 pandemic, which has wreaked havoc worldwide, and injected a host of uncertainties into our plans for the future. And, astrologers across India, the US, and the UK, among others, have been busy making predictions about when the coronavirus will go away. In fact, astrologers and tarot card readers claim that they have been working overtime since the lockdown started — with Indian companies like AstroTalk and AstroYogi reporting that their revenues have almost doubled during the pandemic.
But, besides the big picture uncertainties, astrology also helps some people deal with their day-to-day anxieties, and helps inspire a sense of control. “Astrology gives an irrational kind of hope that when I read that a positive change is going to happen in one's life it actually will, reinforcing a sense of control in the future.
Psychologists have noted that more astrologically-inclined people also tend to have an external locus of control in life, meaning they believe that their successes or failures result from external factors or forces beyond their influence, in contrast to people with an internal locus of control, who perceive themselves as the controllers of their narratives. “There is a real yearning and longing out there for some kind of guidance and meaning… A lot of people don’t quite know what they are looking for. I think astrology falls into that", a consulting psychologist from Sydney, said.
However, this deep-seated belief about celestial events interspersing with human lives, isn’t entirely harmless. In a country like India, astrology, rather than compatibility, dictates whether people can get married, besides dictating decisions about financial investments based on planetary positions. Moreover, given how powerful superstitions are already are in Indian culture, practitioners of astrology, numerology, palmistry, and other similar pseudo-sciences, often target people’s gullibility for financial gain.
In essence, astrology is a coping mechanism from the stress and uncertainty of life. As Christopher French, Professor of Psychology at University of London, had written, explaining why people believe in astrology: “Anything that appears to provide a glimpse of what is waiting around the next corner may give someone a better sense of control, even if that sense of control is illusory.”
