Why you can't win arguments in science using ordinary methods

In the world of science ....

"Debates don’t show who is right. They only show who is best at debating. Likewise arguments don't show who is wrong. Only evidence can show who is right, not debates and arguments. But what if people don't know how to win in science?

What if the other person debating doesn't accept your genuine evidence? What if people watching don't know what scientific evidence is?"

In science you can win battles only by getting better data and solid genuine evidence.

Recently I was telling some people about nutrition. Unable to say anything against my points, one of them said, "We don't know anything about these things. Had we known more about them, we would have won the argument."

Really? Do you think you can win against evidence based facts? In science you will not have that choice. You cannot say anything you want and win an argument in science.

How can you win against an evidence based fact? You can't!

Why? You have to provide genuine evidence to win in science. If I provide it you have no other go but to accept what I say. There will be only scientific facts that can win arguments for you. Your opinions, beliefs, irrational thoughts will not be considered as facts in science. There will be only one fact given that it is well established with solid evidence. It wins. Everything else loses. If you have scientific knowledge like me, you will have only one fact to talk about and that is a scientist's fact. You won't even try to argue against it because you understand you can never win when you are facing that fact. You would have accepted it and kept quiet, had you known about it.

Because you have no knowledge about science, you think you can win if you have it. But the truth is you won't even try to argue if you have it. Because, scientists never speak using opinions, beliefs and irrational thoughts. They only talk about evidence based facts, well most of the time.

Moral of this story: never argue with a scientist. If you have knowledge, you will understand the scientist is right. If you don't have the knowledge, you can never understand a fact to argue against it.

Just listen and learn when a scientist is around and talking using scientific methods.
