Krishna; “Settled science” is actually what this universe followed to come into existence and continue to run ( as principles and rules).

If it is bullshit , this universe doesn’t run on it. If it is working excellently based on these principles, it is not bullshit.

The other aspect of science, i.e., the systematic study of the structure and behaviour of the physical and natural world through observation, experimentation, and the testing of theories against the evidence obtained, is not settled.

It is limited by human mind inadequacies. That is why we can’t ‘prove’ things in science but can just show ‘evidence’.

What you say "settled science" refers to a scientific theory or concept that has been so extensively researched and supported by evidence from the scientific community that it is widely accepted as a reliable truth, essentially signifying a strong consensus among experts on a particular topic, even though new information could always potentially challenge it; it's considered the “best understanding” we have based on current knowledge.

When the ‘systematic study of the world’ matches exactly with the ‘settled science of the universe’, facts based on evidence get established.

That is not nonsense. They are facts based on evidence. When these facts get established, they can be utilized in our day today life to our benefit. The very fact that they work excellently is enough evidence that they are not rubbish.

A heart attack is caused by a blockage in an artery that supplies blood and oxygen to the heart:

The blockage is usually caused by a buildup of plaque in the coronary arteries, the major blood vessels that supply the heart muscle.

A heart attack occurs when the flow of blood to the heart is reduced or blocked, which can damage or destroy heart muscle. The most common cause of a heart attack is coronary artery disease (CAD), which is a buildup of plaque in the arteries. Plaque is made up of cholesterol, fat, and other substances. When a plaque ruptures, a blood clot can form and block blood flow to the heart.

This is science. “Established science”? Yes!

If the blockage is ‘removed’ using scientific knowledge, your health improves. You make the heart work again to some to normal extent using ‘established science”. When science is followed, you find solutions to most problems. Then how can that be nonsense?

Antibiotics work because they are based on ‘established science’. How can that be rubbish?

Settled science works like magic!

There can still be some difficulties. That is due to human mind limitations or some other limitations because of which we cannot have 100% control on human bodies and situations that govern them.

Not because of “settled science” of the universe. It is because our scientific studies and consensus we reached using them didn’t match exactly with settled science of this universe.

Science is still in its infant stage. As it grows it can improve more and more to match with the universal

settled science. Wait till then and have patience.

Krishna KumariChalla:

You shouldn’t believe in anything. That includes science.

You have to question things, try to falsify what you or others found and only when the evidence fully satisfies you, should you trust it.

That is the difference between science and religion. Science invites falsification. Religion avoids it.

If you follow science like you follow religion blindly there won’t be any difference between them.

Science isn't a belief system, it's a method of inquiry based on evidence and critical thinking, constantly evolving and open to revision.

You shouldn't "believe" in science as if it's a religion; instead, you should understand the process and critically evaluate scientific claims based on evidence and methodology. As new evidence emerges, scientific understanding can evolve, which might lead to previous conclusions being revised or overturned. That is termed as “progress” in science.

Based on evidence we say we “trust” science.
