Creating Art Scientifically

We often hear/read reports about deteriorating conditions of famous art works (1). While science is trying to conserve these invaluable pieces of art (2,3), you too can do your bit to make your art last long.

Friends, even if you don't create works on Science Themes, you can always create art scientifically! Yes, if you follow the methods of science, art works will be of good quality, they lost longer and don't cause health hazards to you and they will be environmentally safe.…

A MASTERPIECE IN MY OPINION

A MASTERPIECE IN MY OPINION

Recently I have visited several art exhibitions and shows both off and on line. As my eyes moved from one art work to another exhibited in these shows, my mind measured the depth of the minds of the artists that created them. The poems, write ups and models sent to me for reviews and approvals tell me a lot about the grounds they cover in their journey to my computer screen.

            I have more than 2000…

IS THE ELECTRONIC MEDIA MAKING US LOSE THE CAPACITY TO DIFFERENTIATE BETWEEN VIRTUAL AND REAL WORLDS?

IS THE ELECTRONIC MEDIA MAKING US LOSE THE CAPACITY TO

DIFFERENTIATE BETWEEN VIRTUAL AND REAL WORLDS?

Recently an interesting and amusing thing has happened on Art Lab. One artist who now resides in the US uploaded some new pictures in the gallery of this network and sent me a message in which he asked me to send his old pictures back to him. I was a bit amused and puzzled. How could I send uploaded images back to anyone? I told him to delete them if he didn’t want to display… Continue

Science and Art - The Right Approach to Creating And Understanding Art Works Based on Science

SCIENCE AND ART – THE RIGHT APPROACH TO CREATING AND

UNDERSTANDING ART WORKS BASED ON SCIENCE

Some time back my mind debated whether I should give importance to visual appeal too in my art work while creating it. These thoughts never crossed my mind when I started my work in the art field. But

they caused ripples in my head when some of my friends – although the number…

Art Themes born in a science lab!

Art themes born in a Science lab!

Several people ask me how I get all those ideas to paint. I tell them I get them in my Science Lab.

You can't stop thinking when you are in a lab. If you stop you are dead

as a scientist. Like the…

Science and Art - perfection and imperfection

When we deal with science, everything has to be perfect & stand the test of time. We have to follow the rules strictly here. If we are dealing with a scientific or a technological invention that is not perfect, we won't get the desired results & sometimes we might even have to face risks os even losing lives. Let us take the example of a car that is only 99% perfect. If its steering or brakes don't work properly because they are imperfect, we run a risk while driving such a car. Does…

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN CELEBRITY CULTURE?

Just 30 minutes. Yes, that is the time I require to read a news paper of 20 pages. Because I don’t have time to read all those silly things politicians say and strange stories – half of them untruths – about celebrities like movie, TV, Rock & Pop stars, sports persons and WAGS media wants us to believe as great ones. Recently one of my friends invited me to a party. She tried to woo me by saying a famous cricketer had agreed to attend it. “I am not coming”, I firmly told her. “Why you… Continue

Ancient Art Depicting space machines & astronauts!

Ancient Astronauts ?

Recently, the National Geographic Channel aired a show called Is

It Real?
, which investigates the possibility of ancient astronauts

having visited earth hundreds and maybe even thousands of years ago.

The show offered some compelling evidence. The proof, or lack thereof, is

to be found in old paintings…

Save our Tigers

In search of a safe home

Why is the Royal Bengal Tiger visiting the Football stadium? To play football? “No”, is the answer. Then why is it here? Let us hear the answer from the mouth of the tiger itself.

“Hello, Homo sapiens, are you scared to see me here? You are, I am pretty sure. That is why you ran away. But why am I here?

I am here in search of a safe home. Because, men, you destroyed my home, killed my family… Continue

In the Grip of Discovery and Creativity

Very often we artists will be in a world of our own. When an idea grips us - we feel as if our minds are on fire. Yes, they start burning!

I am in several creative fields. I am also in the field of science which has me completely in its grip. When I want to find out something- for days, months and years I cut off the whole world. I become very absent-minded (my

painting "The mind of a scientist" describes this well. You can see it here:… Continue
